Objectives
Create an integrated, destination-driven, Super Bowl hospitality program for CBS Television Network, CBS Television Stations and CBS Sportsline.com. Capitalize on the excitement and energy of South Florida as the Super Bowl host city, while providing a platform for high-level business meetings and presentations.
Solutions
SportsMark designed and managed an elite Super Bowl hospitality experience for CBS. Guests were shuttled aboard three private 737 jets to Miami from New York arriving at the elegant Loews Hotel in South Beach. SportsMark created a customized CBS-branded hospitality suite and managed more then 600 hotel rooms.
Event highlights included a private dinner event for 250 VIP guests at Emeril’s Restaurant with guest chef Emeril Lagasse and an exclusive Beach Party on South Beach, featuring surprise guest performance by Prince and band Groupo Fantasmo. The concert included technical lighting for 45,000 square feet of beachfront space, a 60-foot mobile stage, premium sound system, and custom video production.
Other activities included an exclusive CBS golf tournament, hot lap rides in actual NASCAR vehicles at Homestead Speedway, shopping and Art Deco tours, fishing excursions, and local museum tours.
SportsMark negotiated a private buyout of South Beach’s hottest nightclub for 1,000 guests, including CBS talent and VIP guests. The SportsMark creative team worked for months to augment the club’s existing lighting and video package to maximize the impact of the evening for CBS’ guests. Our production efforts included custom video editing, 1,000 feet of truss, intelligent lighting, and concert level sound mixing.
We maximized the Miami destination by creating a pre-game tailgate party, chartering four deluxe yachts to accommodate 1,000 guests for a three-hour sail along the Miami Bay, heading north toward Dolphin Stadium. A prearranged police escort (via 16 motorcycles) led guests to Dolphin Stadium to watch Super Bowl XLI.
